Terry Elliott played an active part in parish life both at Christ the King and St. Patrick's Thornaby. On 25th May he left by coach to head for Lourdes; on the morning of the 26th May, the coach was nearing Lourdes but stopped at a Cafe in Toulouse for breakfast. Terry collapsed and was rushed to hospital. He had suffered a heart attack and as he had hit his head when he fell, internal swelling on his brain. This was a massive shock to his family as he had not suffered any prior heart problems. His wife and three daughters rushed out to Toulouse, but he did not regain consciousness and died on 1st June 2007. He was such a lovely man, he helped with so many things, from the bingo on a Tuesday at Christ the King where he also handed out the Mass sheets every Saturday, helping out at the school fetes, garden fetes, and even taking the part of Father Christmas for St Patrick's Junior School. He carried the banner in the outdoor procession at St. Patrick's for 50 years. In our hearts he will always stay. Loving husband, Dad and Grandad. Thanks to all the adults and children who offered prayers whilst they were in Lourdes.
